Rostislav Krimer
Rostislav Krimer is a true collaborator in music and is joint regularly by outstanding musicians either as chamber music partners or as his soloists when conducting the Orchestra-For-Peqce the East-West Chamber Orchestra he founded in 2015. Gidon Kremer, Maxim Vengerov, Sergey Krylov, Viktor Tretyakov, Fazil Say as well as Julian Rachlin are regular and long standing companions. He was playing with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Moscow Soloists and Kremerata Baltica among many others.

For many years he was the duo partner and close musical friend to the legendary pianist Paul Badura-Skoda, with whom he regularly played 4 hands recitals as well as concertos and recording a double concerto of Mozart, which was released in 2014. Krimer was also the only duo partner until last days of great Maestro after Jörg Demus, with whom Badura-Skoda played for more than half of a century.

His close collaboration with Krzysztof Penderecki and preformances of his Piano Concerto “Resurrection” which was prepared together with the composer are something to mention.
Besides his concert activities, Rostislav Krimer was named a Friend of UNICEF, being an active supporter of charity projects for children for many years. The Annual UNICEF Gala Dinner with Rostislav Krimer & Friends was also a great success this year. Recently, in October 2018, Rostislav Krimer was also awarded a honorary title – Star Ambassador of the 2nd European Games 2019. Recently, Krimer was also elected as the Associate of the Royal Academy of Music in London.

An important colleague and long-term collaborator was Yuri Bashmet with whom he teamed up for hundreds of concerts and chamber music projects together, including a World-Premiere of Concerto for viola, piano and orchestra dedicated to Yuri Bashmet and Rostislav Krimer by composer Valery Voronov. Rostislav Krimer was also the founder, General- and Artistic Director of the annual Yuri Bashmet International Music Festival, which for 15 years regularly saw on one stage most notable artists and young talents from all over the world. The Festival under the leadership of Krimer created a music academy for youth, helped many young composers and saw legends – Sofia Gubaidulina, Gija Kancheli, Peteris Vasks, Erkki-Sven Tüür, Krzysztof Penderecki and Valentin Silvestrov.

In 2018, he was honored to play a premiere of new founded piece by Dmitry Shostakovich, which he performed together with Nils Mönkemeyer at the Shostakovich Festival and with presence of composer’s widow Irina Antonovna Shostakovich.

Born in Belarus and based in the city of Beethoven Bonn since 2000, Rostislav Krimer studied in Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Hochschule für Musik in Cologne and Royal Academy of Music in London. The recital which launched his international rise took place at Cadogan Hall in London in 2006 to highest critical acclaim. Since then he has been performing at prestigious festivals in Aix-en-Provence, Delft, Lockenhaus, Ljubljana, Varna, the Beethovenfest Bonn and the Villa Medici in Rome. Other invitations brought him to the major stages worldwide including the Berlin Philharmonie, Great Tchaikovsky Hall, Queen Elisabeth Hall and St Martin-in-the-Fields.

Rostislav Krimer is Chief-Conductor and Artistic Director of the East-West Chamber Orchestra, which consists of the best artists from East and West – concertmasters and leaders of renowned orchestras, professors of prestigious music academies as well as winners of the most prestigious competitions worldwide, including the Tchaikovsky, ARD, Long-Thibaud and the Paganini holding Stradivari, Guarneri-del-Gesu, Amati, Goffriller instruments. The historical recording of 4 Chamber symphonies of Miezysław Weinberg were nominated for Opus Klassik and ICMA Award, received 5 stars by BBC Magazine, CD of the Week by Norman Lebrecht among other top critics worldwide. Rostislav Krimer also grounder and Artistic Director of the East-West International Music Festival to be held in different countries in 2023, where the East-West Chamber Orchestra will be again the orchestra-in-residence.
